EDI is a new technology of desalination mutually combined with electrodialysis and ion exchange. The advantage between the electrodialysis and ion exchange is used for this craft process. The weakness of both is made up, that is water and electricity producing H+ and OH- ion occurred by using electrodialysis polarization to realize the resin regeneration, to overcome the defect which the resin is regenerated by chemical agent after failure. Therefore EDI technology is a perfect desalination process, is the best equipment to replace mixed ion exchanger.
